U6 Guidelines:·
· Format: 3 v 3 on split fields (2 fields). Coaches should attempt to balance game play between the two fields and if a team lacks enough players, share players to create equal teams.
· Game Length: Two 16-minute halves
· Halftime: 5 minutes
· Referees: FCFC Junior Referees or coaches if referee is not available
· Foul Play: All Free Kicks are Indirect, NO penalty kicks
· Substitutions: at coach’s discretion but shall try to minimize play disruption
· Ball into touch
• Ball crosses endline: Goal Kick or Corner Kick
• Goal Kick
» Defending players must move behind the center line for the Goal Kick and not cross until the ball is live or the ball cross the center line
» Once kicked, the ball is not live until it is received by an offensive player (ie, when the second player touches the ball).
» The player taking the kick can choose to kick it quickly and not wait for the other team to get behind the center line.
• Ball crosses sideline: Kick-in
· A goal cannot be scored:
• Directly from the kick-off
• From the defensive half of the field

· Substitutions: at dead-ball with referee approval/signaling
· Ball into touch
• Ball crosses endline: Goal Kick or Corner Kick
• Goal Kick

• No punting. The ball shall be rolled or kicked on the ground. A ball placed on the ground and then kicked by the goalie is not live until touched by an offensive player.
